Dear Sir/Madam,
Subject: Petition for Visa-Free Travel between Ghana and the UK
I am writing to respectfully petition the UK government to consider implementing a visa-free travel arrangement between Ghana and the
United Kingdom. As a concerned citizen and advocate for stronger
bilateral relations, I firmly believe that such an arrangement would bring
numerous benefits to both nations in terms of economic, political, and
social aspects.
Ghana's Historical Contribution to the UK:
During the Second World War, Brave Ghanaian soldiers made the ultimate sacrifice fighting alongside British forces. Their dedication and
courage played a significant role in upholding the values of freedom and democracy during a critical period in history. This selfless commitment from Ghanaian soldiers highlights the strong historical ties between our
two nations.
Current Disparity with Colombian Citizens:
Despite the considerable contributions made by Ghana and its citizens to
the United Kingdom, it is disheartening to observe that Colombian citizens can presently travel to the UK visa-free while Ghanaian citizens do not have the same privilege. This disparity in treatment has led to
feelings of inequality and has hindered potential growth in various sectors.
Benefits of Visa-Free Travel:
Economic Advantages:
The facilitation of visa-free travel would encourage
increased business, tourism, and investment opportunities between Ghana and the UK.
It would enable easier movement of entrepreneurs,
professionals, and investors, fostering economic growth and collaboration.
Strengthened Ties:
Removing visa barriers would foster closer diplomatic relations between our countries. Increased interaction at various levels and would enhance cultural understanding and lead to mutually beneficial
political partnerships.
Social and Cultural Exchange:
Visa-free travel would enable more Ghanaians to explore the rich cultural heritage of the UK and vice versa,
promoting a positive exchange of ideas, traditions, and experiences.
Education and Research Collaboration:
Students and academics from both nations would have greater ease in pursuing educational opportunities and research collaborations, furthering knowledge exchange and academic excellence.
Facilitated Family Reunions:
Visa-free travel would enable Ghanaian families living in the UK and vice versa to reunite more frequently,
strengthening family bonds and promoting unity.
Conclusion:
In light of the historical contributions of Ghanaian soldiers during the
Second World War and recognizing the potential benefits in various
domains, I kindly request that the UK government considers granting
visa-free travel between Ghana and the United Kingdom. Such an
arrangement would not only honor the memory of those who sacrificed
their lives but also strengthen the ties that bind our two nations.
I trust that my humble petition will be given the utmost consideration,
and I remain hopeful for a positive response.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.

High Commission of Canada

Dear Sir,
Subject: Petition for Visa-Free Travel between Ghana and Canada
I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits.
I am writing as a concerned citizen and a firm believer in the potential for strengthening bilateral relations between Ghana and Canada. With great respect and optimism, I hereby submit this petition on behalf of numerous individuals
who share the same sentiments.
I would like to draw attention to Canada's visionary approach to immigration, with an ambitious plan to welcome 500,000 immigrants annually by 2025. As outlined in various government statements, this
decision reflects Canada's recognition of the need to address the economic
challenges posed by an aging population and lower birth rates. We commend Canada's foresight in understanding that a diverse and skilled immigrant workforce is vital for the nation's growth and prosperity.
On the other hand, Ghana, a country renowned for its tranquility and harmonious atmosphere, has been ranked as the second most peaceful nation in Sub-Saharan Africa and the 38th most peaceful country globally by the 2021 Global Peace Index (GPI). This accolade highlights Ghana's
commitment to upholding peace and security, values that resonate strongly with Canada's own principles and priorities.
Moreover, Ghanaians living in the United States of America have been recognized for their dedication and hardworking nature, proven by an analysis of work and job skills among immigrant groups in the US. It stands to reason that welcoming such diligent and skilled individuals to Canada would significantly contribute to the nation's economic growth and development.
In light of these compelling factors, I, along with many fellow citizens, kindly request the esteemed authorities to consider the possibility of
implementing a visa-free travel arrangement between Ghana and Canada.
Such a measure would foster greater cultural exchange, stimulate tourism, and provide both countries with an opportunity to further solidify their strong bond as "second homes" to one another.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that facilitating visa-free travel between Ghana and Canada would be a milestone in the enhancement of our nations' friendship, trade, and mutual understanding. As our respective countries have already demonstrated their commitment to progress and prosperity.
I appeal to you to carefully evaluate this proposal and take it into consideration during your deliberations.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to a positive response and the possibility of witnessing a brighter future of cooperation between Ghana and Canada.
Sincerely,
Ibrahim Salahadeen Mohammed.
