The strike by the Mortuary Workers Association of Ghana is severely affecting public mortuaries in the Ashanti Region, leaving families in distress.

Workers are protesting poor salaries, inadequate working conditions, and lack of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Families at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital are stranded, unable to retrieve their loved ones' bodies.

The association’s president, Ebenezer Esillifi, has stated the strike will continue until their demands are met.

The situation is causing significant backlogs in mortuaries and straining the healthcare system, prompting calls for government intervention to resolve the crisis.
