Professor Martin Oteng Ababio, a senior lecturer at the University of Ghana, has criticized the Free Senior High School policy, arguing that it has worsened challenges in the education sector.
While acknowledging the policy's impact on increasing university enrollment, he pointed out the lack of infrastructure improvements in tertiary institutions, resulting in overcrowded lecture halls and stretched resources.
Speaking during a campaign outreach to promote the National Democratic Congress (NDC) 2024 manifesto, he praised the party's plan to review the policy, stressing the need to balance quality with growing student numbers.
