New Voters’ Register: NDC, others can 'cry blood' and walk from Accra to Burkina Faso - Kofi Akpaloo
The Founder and Leader of the Liberal Party of Ghana [LPG], Mr. Percival Kofi Akpaloo, says “absolutely nothing” whatsoever can stop the Electoral Commission [EC] from compiling a new voters’ register.
He claims the register is “full of dirt”; hence, there is a need for it to be replaced ahead of the December 7 polls.
The compilation of a new voters’ register has been challenged by the largest opposition party, NDC and a coalition named the Inter-Party Resistance Against New Voter Register [IPRAN], led by the People's National Convention [PNC] National Chairman, Bernard Mornah.
The group has called on some eminent leaders in the country to impose on the EC to suspend its schedule date to compile a new voters’ register - this, according to Kofi Akpaloo will not change the EC’s decision.
“The EC will keep to its promise to compile a new voters’ register. The register we have now is not the best. What is in this register that the NDC is still insisting that we use it? They can cry blood or walk from Accra to Tamale or from Accra to Burkina Faso . . . .we will change the register,” Akpaloo strongly insisted in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’.
