The CEO of the Ghana Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mark Badu-Aboagye, has urged the government to practice fiscal discipline ahead of the 2024 elections.
Speaking on Joy News, he warned that repeated budget overruns during election years have led to deficits, inflation, and hardship for citizens.
Badu-Aboagye criticized the government’s excessive spending and debt management, which have eroded public trust. He called for responsible economic policies and warned that Ghanaians should not endure similar financial hardships again.
He emphasized that reckless election-year spending must end to ensure economic stability.
