‘We weren’t even protesting!’ – Pregnant woman among 39 detainees remanded for 2 weeks

A pregnant woman, Vera, was remanded for two weeks along with 38 other protestors following a Democracy Hub demonstration in Accra.

Vera claims she and her husband were mistakenly detained while returning from church, and her family was unaware of her situation for 48 hours.

The protest focused on issues like illegal small-scale mining and economic mismanagement.

The group's cases were adjourned to October 8th and 11th, and a bench warrant was issued for one person who failed to appear in court.
