Former Heart of Oak striker Maxwell Boakye has eulogized Bernard Dong Bortey for influencing positively towards his career during his stint with the Phobians.
Both Bortey and Boakye shared the pitch together with the rainbow boys between 2013 and 2015 and he is of the view that, the former Hearts of Oak great motivated him a lot in his three-year spell with the club.
“In fact when you are on the field together with Don Bortey, he motivates a lot. During my time with Hearts, he normally advises we the young once to take our game serious”
“We were following his steps as a senior player. He is a good person to be with and does not joke with his free kicks” he told Bryt FM.
Maxwell Boakye currently plies his trade for second-tier side Gold Stars.
Before the Division was suspended he has ranked up 10 goals in 13 games with 7 assists.
