The President of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS), Daniel Oppong Kyeremeh, has criticized the compounding interest policy on student loans, calling it a "wicked policy" that urgently needs reform.
Speaking on JoyNews' EduTalk Show, he argued that the policy burdens graduates with overwhelming debt, discouraging students from using the loan system.
Kyeremeh also highlighted the financial struggles of the Student Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) and called for better funding, including the uncapping of the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) to support education initiatives like Free SHS.
