President Akufo-Addo has directed the Finance Ministry to raise GH₵8 billion to aid farmers affected by a severe dry spell in eight regions of Ghana.
The relief package will include cash transfers, food supplies, and agricultural inputs.
Finance Minister Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam announced that $160 million (GH₵2.5 billion) has been secured from the contingency fund, with an additional GH₵2.4 billion expected from development partners like the World Bank.
A technical task force will oversee the fair distribution of aid to stabilize the situation until the crisis eases.
