NDC Presidential Candidate John Dramani Mahama has pledged to eliminate several controversial taxes within his first 100 days if elected in the 2024 general elections.
He plans to scrap the e-levy, COVID levy, 10% levy on bet winnings, and emissions levy to ease economic hardships and reduce business costs.
Mahama also committed to removing import duties on vehicles and equipment for industrial and agricultural purposes.
Additionally, he aims to stabilize fuel prices, reduce port fees, and reform the VAT regime to provide relief for households and businesses.
