The Ghana Soybeans Farmers and Aggregators Association is urging the government to immediately lift the ban on grain exports, arguing that it harms farmers who rely on these exports for their livelihood.
The ban, announced on August 27 to address a drought in the northern region, is seen by the association as ineffective.
Abdul Hakeem Issah, the association's Director of Administration, criticized the government for failing to properly manage grain storage through Buffer Stock, which was created to accumulate and release grains as needed.
