Democracy Hub protest not about galamsey, it’s about a political interest – Cheddar

Independent presidential candidate Nana Kwame Bediako, also known as Cheddar, has claimed that the recent Democracy Hub protests were politically motivated rather than aimed at combating illegal mining (galamsey).

In a social media post, Bediako argued that the demonstrations focused more on advancing political agendas ahead of elections than addressing environmental issues.

He criticized the movement’s leadership for lacking input from mining and environmental stakeholders, which he believes undermines its credibility.

Bediako urged the youth to remain vigilant and avoid being used for political purposes, advocating for non-partisan solutions to fight illegal mining.
