US prosecutors have said Hajia4Real is innocent until proven guilty in court.
Ghanaian socialite Hajia4Real, whose real name is Mona Faiz Montresi, has made news as it is revealed that she has been extradited from the UK to the US for prosecution.
Hajia4Real has been accused of defrauding older single men and women in America out of her over $2 million in the dastardly Lonely Her Hearts scam.
According to the indictment, Hajia 4 Real allegedly conducted a dating scam specifically targeting seniors living alone and single Americans.
But the US Attorney's Office post said the charges were mere suspicions and that the defendants were presumed innocent until proven guilty. On November 10, 2022, Hajia 4Real was arrested in the UK on suspicion of conspiracy and was extradited to the US on Friday.
She is currently charged with conspiracy, money laundering, property theft and wire fraud. If convicted as the main offender, she faces up to 20 years in prison.
