Katakyie Kwame Opoku Agyeman, the Free SHS Coordinator for the Central Region, has warned parents and guardians of new senior high school students to resist any payment requests from school authorities.
Speaking on ATL FM, he stressed that any additional charges for services are unauthorized since the government covers essential educational expenses.
Parents are advised to report any such demands.
Agyeman also instructed students who weren't initially placed to use the self-placement platform to secure a school spot.
He assured that the process is simple and can be done online by entering their index number with “24” at the end for 2024 graduates.
