7 dead, others injured in head-on collision on Berekum-Sunyani road

A tragic head-on collision on the Berekum-Sunyani road near Nsuatre Amamfoso has left seven dead and several others injured.

The crash involved a private car and a taxi, killing five women in the private vehicle and two passengers in the taxi.

Eyewitnesses suggest a burst tyre on the private car, possibly due to potholes, may have caused the driver to lose control.

Injured passengers were taken to nearby hospitals, with three in critical condition at Berekum Holy Family Hospital.

Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
