Reports reaching DAILY GUIDE indicate that 800 women at Amantin in the Atebubu-Amantin Constituency of the Brong Ahafo Region, who are members of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), have defected to the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Speaking to the media, the leader of the group, Ms Awurata said life has become unbearable for them under the current Mahama administration.
“For over 20 years that we have been with the NDC, our lives have not improved,” they told DAILY GIUDE.
According to them, they also lost confidence in the NDC executives in Atebubu Amantin Constituency because of their deceit and greed.
“They only think about themselves and do not care a hoot about us, so we have decided to join the NPP, they stated.
However, the Constituency Organizer of the NDC, Aziz Musah, disclosed that the said women were not members of the party in the constituency.
The NPP usually showcases its own members to the world as defected NDC members, he declared.
