The 92 aggrieved customers of Menzgold who went to demonstrate at the CEO’s residence have been granted bail to the sum of three thousand Ghana cedis with one surety.
The bail was granted after the prosecution substituted the previous charge sheet with a fresh one.
The customers who were charged with conspiracy to commit crime, unlawful assembly and forceful entry all pleaded not guilty.
A representative of NAM One pleaded for out of court settlement which the customers agreed to through their lawyer.
However, the prosecution opposed the out of court settlement explaining that in the amended charge sheet, the Principal witness who is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is not the main complainant.
The court presided over by Delali Anku in his ruling asked both parties to present a formal document to the court for an out of court settlement on the adjourned date.
The case has been adjourned to the 3rd March, 2020. Lawyer for the aggrieved customers spoke to the media after the ruling.
