The Electoral Commission (EC) has officially accredited the Alliance for Christian Advocacy Africa (ACAA) to participate as an observer in the December 7 presidential and parliamentary elections.
This accreditation aligns with the EC’s commitment to fostering transparent and peaceful elections. A letter confirming the accreditation, dated November 1, 2024, and signed by EC Chairperson Jean Mensa, highlighted the anticipated contributions of ACAA in promoting peaceful elections while supporting academic research on the electoral process.
In preparation, the EC has requested all observer groups, including ACAA, to complete a mandatory training by November 15, 2024. This training is essential for equipping observers with the skills and knowledge necessary to ensure credible and effective observation. The EC’s move underlines its dedication to ensuring that observers are fully prepared and qualified for this vital role.
The ACAA’s involvement resonates with its core mission of advancing ethical leadership and social advocacy within Ghana and beyond.
Rev. Dr. Kwabena Opuni-Frimpong, CEO of ACAA, stated that the organization aims to create Advocacy Clubs in educational institutions, churches, workplaces, and communities. These clubs are designed to foster Christian advocacy, empowering individuals to shape public policy and champion social justice across diverse sectors.
A non-denominational and non-partisan organization, ACAA unites Christian leaders from various professional fields, both lay and ordained.
