The Office of the Attorney General has appealed the Court of Appeal's acquittal and discharge of Minority Leader Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson and Richard Jakpa in the ambulance procurement case.
Filed on August 8, 2024, the appeal argues that the Court erred in its application of the standard of proof required for the accused to answer charges.
It contends that the Court's ruling on the letters of credit and the responsibility for financial loss was flawed and led to a miscarriage of justice.
The AG seeks a reversal of the acquittal and a continuation of the accused's defense at the Supreme Court.
