The Ministry of Health has referred a case of alleged medical misconduct at the Trauma and Specialist Hospital in Winneba to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and the Attorney General’s Department.
This follows a Ghana Health Service (GHS) investigation that found hospital staff responsible for the death of a patient who was transferred to Ojobi and subsequently abandoned.
The Ministry seeks further legal action due to the severity of the incident and has requested the Attorney General’s assistance in determining the staff's culpability.
Internal disciplinary actions have also been recommended by the GHS.
