A contractor's diversion of the Ayensu River to work on the Kasoa-Cape Coast Highway has caused the Accra-Winneba Highway to cave in, disrupting traffic.
Commuters are left stranded as floodwaters have created a large gully across the highway.
Over 150 houses in Gomoa Mampong are also flooded. The river's diversion was caused by an affected bridge in the Gomoa East District, causing unexpected flooding in the community.
Residents are urging authorities to take action and hold the contractor accountable.
