Accra is 7th most expensive city in Africa – Numbeo

Accra is the 7th most expensive city to live in Africa, according to Numbeo, with an index of 32 out of 100.

Numbeo's index considers rent, groceries, restaurants, cost of living plus rent, and local purchasing power.

South Africa has four cities in the top 10: Johannesburg (1st), Pretoria (2nd), Cape Town (3rd), and Durban (5th). Lagos, Nigeria, is 4th, and Casablanca, Morocco, is 6th.

Economic challenges like currency fluctuations, inflation, and tax increases drive up living costs in African cities, exacerbating income inequality and making it harder for many to afford basic necessities.
