Retired Superintendent of Police Peter Lanchene Toobu has criticized the owner of Cabest Jewellery shop in Adabraka, Accra, for not prioritizing security after the shop was robbed by armed men over the weekend.
In an interview on Joy News, Toobu emphasized that business owners should seek police protection, especially when handling significant cash amounts. He questioned whether the shop owner had requested a permanent police presence, suggesting that such a measure could have deterred the robbery.
Residents voiced their fears, noting this was the third robbery at Cabest and called for a permanent police facility to enhance security in the area.
Toobu urged the police to use modern technology to expedite the investigation into the incident.
