Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress [NDC], Sammy Gyamfi has described his colleague Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party [NPP], Yaw Buaben Asamoa, as a “mentally unstable” person.
The NPP, on Monday, February 3, 2020, called on former President John Dramani Mahama to respond to allegations that an individual close to a top government official was bribed by Airbus between 2011 and 2015 in the now-famous scandal.
Addressing a press conference in Accra, Mr Yaw Buabeng Asamoah asked former President Mahama to officially respond to the court documents.
“In the face of these facts, it is very necessary for President Mahama to come out and be heard publicly,” the NPP stalwart said.
Adding that, “he cannot continue to hide behind his party members including a former Attorney-General. Of course, we are all aware that he hates answering questions on corruption, but answer he must, because at this moment, all fingers point to him and one of his brothers.”
However, reacting to this in an interview on NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’, Sammy Gyamfi said: “I think Yaw Buaben Asamoa yesterday was hallucinating.”
Asked by the host, Akwasi Aboagye, what exactly he meant by the hallucinating’ claim, the sharp-tongued NDC communicator explicitly said “... he [Yaw Buaben Asamoa] is mentally unstable. There’s something wrong with him.”
