Former President John Dramani Mahama has accused the Akufo-Addo administration of deliberately undermining independent institutions in Ghana, particularly the Electoral Commission and the Judiciary.
Speaking at his Good Governance Forum on October 31, he expressed concern over the erosion of institutional integrity, which he believes threatens democracy and good governance.
Mahama pledged to restore these institutions' independence if elected in the upcoming elections and emphasized the importance of collaboration with civil society and the media to enhance transparency.
He called for unity among citizens to strengthen democracy, criticizing the current government's record on human rights and press freedom.
