Akufo-Addo names award scheme after late John Kumah

The Presidential Pitch's top prize is now named in honor of the late Dr. John Kumah, the event's founding CEO.

President Nana Akufo-Addo announced this during the Season 5 event in Accra, also declaring that the week before the Pitch will be celebrated as "John Kumah Week" starting next year.

The program, aimed at nurturing young entrepreneurs, has created around 5,000 jobs.

This year's winner, Naamgwinaa Samuel, won GH¢250,000 for his innovative Smart Switch, a device that allows remote control of home appliances via phone calls.
