The flag bearer of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) is not a thief that will steal from the coffers of the state if elected president of Ghana, Mrs Samira Bawumia, wife of the NPP’s vice-presidential candidate Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has said.
Speaking at Akojo Park in Tema on Sunda at the NPP’s Greater Accra campaign launch, Mrs Bawumia said Ghana needs "an incorruptible leader, we need a competent leader, we need a selfless leader, we need a visionary leader, a leader with good judgment and a leader who loves the country than he loves his pockets."
According to her, these qualities are missing the current leadership of President John Mahama for which reason she urged the electorate to vote the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) out in the December 7 polls.
“We are saying to the NDC that we see you alright. ... You want us to see you, we see you but we see incompetence, we see you but we see corruption, we see you but we see bad management, we see you but we see bad governance, we see you but we want change, we see you but we want Ghana to move forward..." Mrs Bawumia said.
She cited the overpriced bus branding scandal to buttress her point about how corrupt the governing NDC is.
