A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Gabby Otchere Darko, has said the arrival of 1.2million doses of the Moderna vaccines into the country is a clear indication that President Akufo-Addo is fulfilling his promise to get Ghanaians vaccinated to save lives.

Ghana received the largest shipment of COVID-19 vaccines yet – 1.2 million doses on Saturday September 4..

The Government said as part of the #COVAX facility, this significant donation of Moderna vaccines from the #US Government will increase the range of #COVID19 vaccines available and further bolster efforts to protect more people from the virus.

Commenting on this in a Facebook post, Mr Otchere Darko, who is also a former Executive Director of the Danquah Institute, said the vaccines will augment government’s determination to get as many Ghanaians as possible inoculated before the end of the year.

“The President promised to get us vaccinated to save lives and get the economy going again and he is doing it.

“Today, 1,229,620 doses of Moderna vaccines arrived here in Accra this morning to augment Government’s determined efforts towards getting as many Ghanaians as possible vaccinated before the end of year.

” The particular efforts of Ambassador Stephanie Sullivan of the US here cannot go unmentioned. Her smile tells it all!”
