Founding President of IMANI Africa, Franklin Cudjoe, has expressed optimism that the President Akufo-Affo-led New Patriotic Party (NPP) will address corruption cases involving the erstwhile National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration.
However, he has advised government not to be so busy with corruption cases by the previous administration to the extent that similar cases which occur within the current government are overlooked.
“I am positive that all cases of grand corruption under the previous government will be dealt with by the new NPP administration. What I worry greatly about now is that there could be busy attempts at sowing similar seeds of corruption by appointees of the new government because we have not dealt with the biggest source of public sector corruption – public procurement,” he noted in a post on Wednesday, August 30.
He is of the view that: “No amount of bureaucracies to fight corruption can on their own deter the act.”
To that end he said he is “personally determined to support President Nana Addo to combat this canker”.
“I have started already and with the combined support of some powerful missions in Ghana… I wish the president well in this complex fight against public theft,” he added.
