Bright Simons, Honorary Vice President of IMANI-Africa, has criticized the prosecution of Minority Leader Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson in the ambulance trial, labeling it "useless" and incompetent.

Dr. Ato Forson is accused of causing financial loss to the state by importing 30 ambulances as part of a 2012 contract.

The prosecution claims he issued unauthorized letters of credit, but former Finance Minister Seth Terkper testified that he had authorized them.

Simons argued on social media that letters of credit are guarantees, not direct payments, and labeled the trial a political move to silence the opposition.

The trial continues with the cross-examination of the third accused, Richard Jakpa.
