The Jaman South Police has arrested one of the suspected killers of the late Major Maxwell Adams Mahama in Gunasua, a town near Drobo in the Brong Ahafo Region.
Deputy Superintendent of Police, DSP Stephen Ofori Akrasi told Kasapa 102.5 FM that the suspect was arrested following a tip-off by an informant.
The suspect, a woman, has been transferred to the Brong Ahafo Regional Police Command in Sunyani for further investigations.
Arrests
According to the police, so far 42 persons have been arrested with the youngest suspect being a 12-year-old while the oldest is a 57–year-old man.
Thirty five of them have been arraigned before court and the Police are closely monitoring investigations from the Police headquarters.
The police have pledged to arrest all suspects connected to the killing of the Military Officer.
Major Maxwell Mahama was lynched by residents allegedly on suspicion he was an armed robber. His painful death threw the country into a state of shock with a large section of the public condemning the dastardly act.
The fallen Soldier will be laid to rest this Friday, June 9, 2017.
