The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced that votes cast for Akua Donkor, the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) candidate, in December’s elections will be invalid.
Despite her name and image appearing on the ballot, Deputy EC Chairman Dr. Bossman Asare confirmed that any votes for her will be annulled.
This follows the disqualification of GFP’s replacement candidate, Philip Appiah Kubi, due to alleged document irregularities.
EC Chairperson Jean Mensa explained that the ballot order remains unchanged to avoid delays, as printing is nearly complete.
The EC is intensifying public education to minimize invalid votes linked to Akua Donkor’s disqualification.
