Abraham Koomson, Secretary General of the Ghana Federation of Labour, has criticized the plan to sell a 60% stake in four SSNIT-owned hotels to Rock City Hotel, owned by Minister Bryan Acheampong.
Koomson suggested that if Acheampong is capable, he should be appointed to manage the hotels rather than buying them.
He emphasized SSNIT’s financial stability and the need to protect workers' assets, calling for amendments to the National Pensions Act.
Despite SSNIT's denial of wrongdoing, Koomson and MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa oppose the sale, with Ablakwa petitioning CHRAJ and leading protests to halt the transaction.
