Membbers of the Ashaiman Constituency branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have stated that Fuseini Adams, who allege that former President Jerry John Rawlings assaulted him, has never been a member of the party.
They said that he was rather a known member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who only deals in mobile phones in Ashaiman and not a resident of the area. This was contained in a press release signed by the Constituency Secretary, Mr Bawa Ibrahim, in reaction to a publication in the media to the effect that Fuseini was a member of the NDC.
It said NDC members in the constituency were dissatisfied with Fuseini's claim of being a member of the party, saying that "we see this development as a scheme designed to hide his real motive pertaining to the alleged assault on him by the former President".
The release said those who witnessed the incident were ready to testify to the truth and "expose the lies and the hidden political agenda of Fuseini".
