Mrs. Mary Enu, the Assembly member for the Cassadjan electoral area in Tema, has appealed to companies and individuals to offer help to the flood victims in her area.
The heavy down pour on Monday and accompanying storms left in its trail broken down bridges, torn drains, and debris of broken walls and ripped roofs in Communities 2, 5 and 3.
According to her, relief items such as blankets, tents and medicine will do the victims a lot of good since they were suffering and that the environment was unsafe for human settlement.
Beyond the natural elements, the residents lived an environmentally unconscious life such as dumping of refuse in drains open defecation, haphazard sighting of kiosks and containers.
She also appealed to National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) and the Tema Metropolitan Assembly to construct the Aponkye Clinic road with street lights to aid the transportation of humans and goods in other to curb theft cases.
