The Chief of the Defence Staff Lieutenant General Obed Akwa, has issued a warning to Fulani Herdsmen in Agogo and surrounding towns that any attack on security personnel, especially the military in the area will not go without a response.
In an interaction with the media in Agogo on the issue, Lt. General Akwa, said an attack on any security personnel is an attack on the state, adding that the military will respond in a measured manner. He assured residents of Agogo that the Fulani menace will be brought to an end.
The Ashanti Regional Police Commander, COP Ken Yeboah revealed that seven suspects have been arrested,four of which are believed to be responsible for the shooting and killing of security personnel in the area, with two more suspects on the run.
The Queen mother of the Agogo Paramount area, Nana Dwaben Afrakoma Kusi Boateng, urged the Inspector General of Police to cause an investigation into the conduct of the immediate past Asante Akyem North District Police Commander in relation to the ongoing operation to drive out the herdsmen and their cattle.
