Friday August 10 has been declared a public holiday by President John Dramani Mahama.
August 10 is the day the late President John Mills would be laid to rest in Accra.
It was confirmed on Thursday that the mortal remains of President Mills will be laid to rest in the area between the Castle Drive and the Marine Drive.
He made this declaration after signing an Executive Instrument to affirm the decision. He said members of the public should not be worried by the needless bickering in the media.
He said the public holiday will enable all Ghanaians to participate in the funeral rites of the late President Mills.
President Mahama clearly stated that government is clear on the most prudent decision to take on the burial site and would go ahead with it.
