Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo has charged Ghanaians to be tolerant but vigilant, as they go out to vote at the various polling centers.
The flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) who got a rousing welcome at the Rock of Ages polling station at the Abuakwa South constituency in Kyebi, in the Eastern Region, where he casted his vote, sent this message via his Instagram page.
“I just voted at the Rock of Ages polling station the Abuakwa South constituency… I appeal passionately to all of you to go out and vote in an orderly and peaceful manner” he said.
“If we want change, we must vote” he averred. The presidential nominee observed that though there might be queues, local [electoral processing] difficulties among other challenges, electorates should make the ‘sacrifice of time’ to visit their designated polling station to vote if they desire change.
He also appealed to the Electoral Commission EC, security personnel and officials to conduct their duties with professionalism to ensure that the process is transparent and credible.
