The Bank of Ghana (BoG) has not yet disbursed any payments related to the $34.9 million ambulance spare parts deal, despite issuing a $10 million Letter of Credit (LC) to Service Ghana Auto Group.
BoG confirmed that no funds have been requested under the LC, which was intended to import spare parts for maintaining Ghana’s ambulance fleet.
The deal has come under scrutiny, with MP Mr. Ablakwa alleging possible corruption and questioning the legitimacy of the service provider, incorporated after the ambulances were commissioned.
The Ministry of Health clarified that no payment has been made and supports efforts for transparency in the matter.
