The Parliamentary Candidate for Madina on the ticket opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alhaji Abubakar Saddique Boniface, has denied any involvement in the the busing of electorates to the constituency to engage in the on-going voter's transfer exercise by the Electoral commission (EC).

The sitting Member of parliament (MP) for the area on the ticket of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Alhaji Amadu Sorogho, out of the phobia of losing the 2016 parliamentary seat, mounted an Accra based radio station, Montia FM last week and leveled spurious allegations that his main competitor was busing people from Salaga in the Northern Region and Dome-Kwabenya in the Greater Accra region to transfer their votes to the constituency.

Speaking to this paper in reaction to the allegations made by the MP, Alhaji Boniface, as he is popularly called in the constituency, said he is not a 'transfer vote politician.'

He said the cost benefits analysis of the claims by the MP alone indicate that the MP was not being truthful in his allegation.

According to him, it will cost about a hundred Ghana Cedis to transport one person from Salaga to Accra and if he had to transport over one hundred voters to transfer their votes to Madina it is a lot of money.

Aside being transported to Accra, they have toe at and a place made available for them to sleep all at a cost, he posited.

"I have been accused of transferring people's votes when the exercise has note even fully started, it tells you the kind person we are dealing with as an MP," he charged.

He questioned: "Am I a 'Father Christmas Politician' to be spending moneys on such exercises in the name of votes?"

"It will be stupid on my part to engage in such frivolous exercise, then as a politician I need a long pocket to be able to make this exercise a reality," the former Minister for Water Resources and Works and housing noted.

"Sometimes being smart in politics also accounts and not just because of politics all manner of allegation must be made to tarnish other people's image.

"I am not a transfer vote politician; the electorate of the area know the politicians who have over the eyars been transferring the votes of Burkinabes to the area during elections,: he stressed.

He said members of his campaign team are not surprised at all that his compatriot is now clutching onto straws as he has seen the signs boldly written on the wall.

"These are the signs that his cards are crumbling, after twelve years in the legislature and the people of the area have nothign to show for his tenure.

"Madina as one of the fastest growing municipalities in the Greater Accra region has no hospital when it will only take the MP to lobby for a common polyclinic to be brought to the area to save the lives of the electorate who have to travel all the way to 37, Ridge and Korle BU hospital to access healthcare," he narrated.
