CSIR Ghana staff commit 1% of salaries to science development

The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has launched an endowment fund to raise $20 million in five years to support scientific research in Ghana.

Staff members have pledged 1% of their monthly salaries towards the initiative.

The fund aims to advance research and develop technologies for socio-economic development.

While the government pays their salaries, it cannot fully support research activities, prompting the CSIR to seek alternative funding sources.

The public and organizations are urged to support the initiative to enhance research capabilities and drive progress in the country.
