Former Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Nana Oye Lithur says immediate past Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Charlotte Osei despite her removal from office has left a great legacy at the Commission.
In a consolatory message to the former EC Boss on social media moments ago on social media, Oye Lithur said: “You still remain our most erudite lawyer, God fearing public servant who reformed and revolutionised the Electoral Commission as its First Female Chairman.”
She adds: You superintended over the best elections ever in 2016. You have made all women in Ghana proud! You served your nation well!!! You are a shinning star and example.
The EC chair, Charlotte Osei, was fired hours ago by the President .
In a statement issued by Ghana’s Presidency, Thursday, President Akufo-Addo also sacked her two deputies Amadu Sulley and Georgina Opoku Amankwah with immediate effect.
The decision follows recommendation by a committee set up by the Chief Justice to investigate allegaitons brought against them.
