Chief Justice Gertrude Sackey Torkornoo has dismissed a petition by former Special Prosecutor Martin Amidu seeking the removal of his successor, Kissi Agyebeng.
The Chief Justice found the petition lacked sufficient factual and legal grounds to establish a prima facie case for Agyebeng's removal.
Amidu's April 30, 2024, petition, sent to the President and forwarded to Justice Torkornoo on May 6, alleged procurement breaches, abuse of judicial administration, rights violations, and improper appointments by Agyebeng.
Despite the dismissal, Amidu criticized the decision and noted he was not provided with the Chief Justice’s review to ensure transparency.
