Church service to mark Palm Sunday

Sun, 4 Apr 2004 Source: GNA

Cape Coast April 4 GNA - Most churches were filled to capacity as Christians in the Cape Coast municipality attended church service to mark the triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem 2000 years ago. Many of them were dressed in white clothes, waved palm branches and processed through the principal streets before converging at their churches, whilst others organised crusade. Delivering a sermon at the Infant Jesus Parish, Reverend Fr. Matthew Manu told Christians to see the triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem as a sign of victory for the world and asked them to reflect and charge their ways and lead lives that are worthy of emulation.

He said as 'true followers' of Christ they should exhibit his examples and be mercy to their neighbours and show love and care to the needy in the society.

Fr. Manu tasked Christians to use the 'Passion Week' to put their houses in order in readiness for the second coming of Christ and continue to pray for peace and unity in the country and the world, particularly in war ravaged countries.

Prayers were said for the President, Mr. John Agyekum Kufour, Ministers of State, the nation and the needy in society.
