The Coalition of Concerned Citizens Against Galamsey is presenting a petition to the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources today, October 4, as part of its ongoing three-day protest against illegal mining.
The demonstration, under the slogans “#FreeTheCitizens” and “#SayNoToGalamsey,” began on October 3 to raise awareness about the environmental damage caused by illegal mining.
Convener Brownson Adatsi called on the public to join the protest to protect Ghana’s waterbodies and forest reserves.
The protest will end on Saturday, October 5, with a vigil at Independence Square.
