The Electoral Commission (EC) has emphasized that compiling the final voters' register is a complex process, not a single event.
Chairperson Jean Mensa explained during an Inter-Party Advisory Committee meeting that the procedure involves multiple steps, including reviewing challenged cases, adjudication, and a public exhibition of the provisional register for corrections.
Mensa stated that calls for a forensic audit at this stage are premature, as the current implementation and verification of decisions made by district magistrates are ongoing.
The EC remains committed to ensuring the integrity of the voters' register before the upcoming elections.
