Constitution Review Committee recommends President pays tax on salary

The Constitution Review Consultative Committee has recommended scrapping Article 68 (5), exempting the President from paying taxes on their salary and emoluments.

This change aims to promote equality before the law and the rule of law.

Additionally, the committee suggested capping the size of Parliament at 277 members, reducing the number of constituencies, and limiting the size of government to 25 ministers.

They also proposed abolishing Deputy Minister and Regional Minister positions, making the President's appointments more efficient.
