All head porters within the lockdown cities will be provided with free meals throughout the stay-home period, Gender minister Cynthia Morrison has said.
According to her, government has already engaged catering services to provide hot meals for the most vulnerable in society as Accra and Kumasi observe quarantine in order to curb the spread of coronavirus in Ghana.
“We currently have about 15,000 that we are going to cater for. There is going to be enough food and enough water. We have people cooking for about 6000 of them daily. The food we are going to provide is going to be a hot meal. We are also providing 15000 sanitizers, ” she told a news conference in Accra on Wednesday.
President Akufo-Addo has also directed that the head potters receive GHC10 daily as part of government’s support to them during the lockdown period.
