The Apostle General of the Royalhouse Chapel International, Reverend Sam Korankye Ankrah, has said that Ghana is not ready for a lockdown because doing so will bring dire consequences to the economy.
Speaking in an interview with Kwame Afrifa Mensah on the ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ show, he reasoned that the economic consequences must be one the reason that His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo has delayed in ordering a lockdown.
He was however of the view that the measures that the Government has taken will definitely control the spread.
“The measures we have taken like the closing of the borders, quarantine of people who come into the country and church services going digital can control the spread”,he said.
He also gave the assurance that with worldwide statistics on how people are recovering from this disease, “we will overcome it”.
The novel Coronavirus pandemic has affected countries worldwide, claiming a lot of lives. Many countries, such as South Africa, UK and Italy in an effort to contain the spread have gone on lockdown.
