A Ghanaian traveler who returned from Nigeria on Sunday afternoon has revealed that returnees under the compulsory quarantine imposed by Government are living under comfortable conditions in their hotels.
The Ghanaian identified as Frederick Ebo Hansen, in an interview with Happy FM’s Kwame Afrifa Mensah on the ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ show, made it known that he had arrived into the country following the closure of his school in Nigeria amid Coronavirus fears, when he heard the announcement of a compulsory quarantine for all those who returned to Ghana.
“All our family members and friends who were to meet us were sent home. My samples have been taken but I haven’t received my results. Other people have given their samples for test, awaiting their results. However, we all didn’t go to the same hotel”, he said.
According to him, those under compulsory quarantine at the airport have received good treatment since they arrived.
“The soldiers were friendly. We were informed that we have all our basic rights except our right to movement. We are very comfortable. Those who serve us also keep their distance. I am able to speak to people on phone”, he added.
Although he revealed that few travelers had issues with the exercise, he commended Government for taking the necessary steps to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic in the country.
